Hello, I'm Melissa, an artist and research scientist based in Perth. I was born in the UK to an Italian father and English mother who both encouraged and instilled in me a love for creativity and art, which I have carried with me throughout my life. I specialize in oil paints and biro drawings, taking inspiration from my mixed cultural heritage and the natural beauty of the world around me. Despite the demands of my scientific work, I make time for my art because it brings balance and serenity to my life. My art captures beautiful yet temporary moments, whether it's a landscape, a human form, or an emotion. My hope is that my art can inspire others to appreciate the beauty around them and to find their own creative outlet as a way to relax and unwind.
